My name is Taylor Whitten and I am studying to begin a career in elementary education. I plan to start my teaching career in South Carolina with the hopes of later becoming an administrator.

I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was five. In high school I participated in the Teachers for Tomorrow Program where I received my first opportunity to teach in a Kindergarten classroom at Signal Hill Elementary School. Since my junior year of high school I have worked summer school at Bennett Elementary School as well as Leesylvania Elementary School progressing from a student aide to a teacher's aide, which I am still involved. I aided in small group instruction, taught lessons, interacted with parents, and helped with arrival and dismissal procedures. The first summer after my freshman year of college, I worked with a special education student who required behavioral support. Overall, I was able to work with students of various grade levels and needs from special education to ESOL. Working in these differing situations taught me organization and people skills, patience, and responsibility while further supporting why I want to be a teacher.

It would be my pleasure to further discuss my education goals and work experience with you by phone or e-mail. Feel free to continue to explore my website to learn more about me as well as my passion for teaching. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for you time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Taylor Whitten
